How to care for Latex

basics about why it's so special

Being a biodegradable milk comming out of the rubber tree,
cosplay made out of Latex requires delicate maintenance and special care.
It's unique and unbeatable shine:
Comes from the right treatment, since latex doesn't shine on its own.
Cleaning after wearing it, is a must and lets it stay alive and for many years to come.
Avoid metals, grease, oil and sharp or pointed things comming into contact with Latex:
It stains, breaks down or rips Latex easily.
Must haves: Latex wash, Latex shiner, dressing Aid and a lint-free cloth.
We advise picking Vivishine, BeGloss or Pjur Latex products.
Wash it in warm water, rinse in fresh water and let dry, turn it inside out, let it dry again.
Treat the Latex with shiner afterwards and put it in a plastic bag.
Store it at roomtemperature in a dry and dark place
As a highly luxurious material, most Latex wear is made out of
thin sheets under 1mm, being produced purely by hand.
While the skill and knowledge required working the material professionally,
is only known among a few amount of people.
In a specific niche, maybe even less than a handful.Simple garments are usually expensive, complex ones a luxury
and custom pieces rare or only selectively accessible.
Due to it's natural origin, some people are allergic to Latex.
Always check your potential allergy risks beforehand.
